guitard: I begged DJ for months to send me his VHS copy, but he said he couldn’t do it because all the films were lost in a house fire, and the VHS copy was all that was left.My next attempt was to offer to buy him a video capture card that he could install in his computer.For a while, it looked like that was what we were going to do.But eventually, he balked on that idea also, saying he wasn’t sure if you would be able to install it correctly.My next idea was to send him my laptop and all the other necessary equipment to capture the video.The idea being that I would talk him through the process over the phone as he was doing it.That’s about the time that he cut off communication.After around a half dozen unanswered emails over the next several months, he finally responded and said he was sorry that he hadn’t answered any of my emails … he had been out of work … had gotten divorced … and had moved quite far away.I think there was only one email in that exchange, and that’s the last I ever heard from him.

I know the real story behind his downfall but not from him..he lied all the way to the bitter end..what took the cake was when I was told about his “Having a Brain Tumor and was Terminal” just a sympathy ploy to justify his Suicide…lots of the stuff on his YT channel is stuff I gave him….he took credit for all of it..

So … he lost his job … got divorced … moved far away AND he had a brain tumor? I’m surprised that he didn’t also say that he got hit by a truck and broke every bone in his body!

voodoo: We love seeing this footage and we’d all love to have it to trade openly, but it seems obvious that this footage isn’t going to be shared in it’s most pure form until some entity with unlimited funds purchases it and sells it to us.

I am so sick of this “Look at what I have and you don’t have” mentality. You purposely join lists like ours to build interest and hope to make money off of us. I have dumped money into several releases, like the 5150 vocal demos, the Gene Simmons demos and the Jas Obrecht 1982 Guitar Player interview tapes. I also spent a small fortune on acquiring a large collection of live VH shows and I’m happy to share them, FOR FREE, with anyone who wants them. I would have hoped your arrogance and hostile attitude would be rejected in this forum. I know many people are playing with kid gloves, hoping that you would release your footage within our little trading community, but you have made it obvious that that was never going to happen.
It’s a rock band. We love the music and the history. You love the money. That’s not what this group is about. If you manage to sell the film and make a huge profit, we’ll all buy it. If you don’t sell it, it’s obvious we’ll never get a pure copy of it. Attack me all you want. You’re only exposing yourself.

mcs5150: It is S8S footage he can do with it what he wants. if he wants to give it away fro free, sell it, or horde it, it is up to him. I’m thankful for what he has shared. Moreover, he has been releasing stuff for free.

I totally agree. He made his objectives obvious with his comment, “somebody had to come along and say something stupid like this..you just fucked up royal” Not, “Send me your address and I’ll send you a copy” not, “If you want a copy, send me $50/$100/$1,000 and I’ll send you a master transfer.” His answer to me was basically, “Fuck you! You will not question me and you will pay what I say to get what you want.”
