2 hours, 4 minutes

Audio: Recorded by me, Church Audio CAFS > SP-SPSB-8 battery pack > Zoom H2 (48khz/24-bit) > Adobe Audition
(EQed and reduced to 48khz/16-bit) Located in section 124, row 24, stage left.

Video (allowed sources):

(1) zr1fevr @Dime: Original files used, 1920 x 1080, located on the floor, 5th row, in front of Eddie.

(2) desertsky @Dime: Original files used, 1920 x 1080, located in the first row behind the floor

(3) OriginalHP @Youtube: Contacted via youtube, who snail-mailed me his original files (not re-encoded): 1920 x 1080, located in the middle of the floor
(brief clips used in several songs)

(4) sargeslauter @Dime: Original files used, 1280 x 720, located in section 214 above and behind the floor.

The vast majority of the DVD consists of footage from sources 1, 2, 3. In cases where the ‘allowed’ footage was obstructed or missing,
additional video sources from Youtube were used for patching with permission of the videographers and Dime mods, totaling 6 to 7 minutes.

(5) lunaticsltd @Youtube: 1920 x 1080 > Youtube > downloaded via Keeptube > mp4 (1920 x 1080)
(Clips used in Guitar Solo and Ain’t Talkin’ Bout Love) Located in the middle of the floor

(6) NoRegretsBand @Youtube: 1280 x 720 > Youtube > downloaded via Keeptube > mp4 (1280 x 720)
(Clips used in Unchained and Ice Cream Man) Located on the side, stage left

(7) Sheri Berry @Youtube: 1280 x 720 > Youtube > downloaded via Keeptube > mp4 (1280 x 720)
(Clips used in Hot For Teacher and Panama) Located near the back of the floor

(8) Scott Keller @Youtube: 1920 x 1080 > Youtube > downloaded via Keeptube > mp4 (1920 x 1080)
(Clips used in Panama and Guitar Solo) Located near the front of the floor, very close to Source 1

(9) wjueckstock @Youtube: 1280 x 720 > Youtube > downloaded via Keeptube > mp4 (1280 x 720)
(very brief clips used in several songs) Located on the side, stage left

This is an upgrade to the NTSC DVD that was uploaded here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=446492

An additional ‘allowed’ camera angle, source 4, has surfaced with footage of almost the entire show. I have recut almost the entire video, leaning
more towards source 1 and utilizing source 4 to replace some of the Youtube content. The Youtube content has been reduced to about 6 or 7 minutes.
I obtained permission from Dime to use the Youtube stuff in a limited manner to fill in the gaps when the ‘legit’ footage was obstructed or missing.
And some of the Youtube footage, such as source 8, was just plain spectacular. There were almost 70 pieces of footage to sync, but the final result
turned out very well. Every song has at least 2 camera angles (there were 3 songs with only 2 angles), and everything else has 3 to 6 camera angles.

Multicam edited and rendered in Vegas Video; menu and chapters authored in DVD Architect (no re-encoding); torrent prepared in TLH.

Blu-Ray
video codec: MPEG-2, 1920 x 1080, 60i, 29.97 f/s
Video bitrate: 25 mb/s max, 22 mb/s avg
Display aspect ratio: 16 x 9
Audio codec: PCM wave, 48 khz, 16-bit, 1536 kb/s.

Planet Rock allows people to upload their own work as “free leech.” So anyone can download it and not worry about share ratio. I’ve started uploading shows there because of this.

I have not checked out the site since I moved back to China. I just tried and was greeted with this message:

“Either the address you are accessing this site from has been banned for previous malicious behavior…
OR…
The action you attempted is considered to be hostile to the proper functioning of this system.
The detected reason(s) you were blocked are:
No access allowed from China.

Thy will also not allow one to access the site using a VPN. Quite simply, assholes!!!

I had some problems at first, but contacted a moderator and they fixed it so that my IP wasn’t banned.

Sounds like a good place for this BluRay show, as most of us can’t afford the ratio hit over at DIME for it.

If you get on a BluRay torrent right away, it can help your ratio. I have uploaded 142 GB so far, crazy!

You do realize that because you have uploaded so much, that you’re making it difficult for others to upload, therefore you’re killing their ratio.

Plus there’s no way for me to upload ~20GB in any reasonable amount of time. It would be measured in double-digit days.

The only way to have come out ahead on a torrent like this at DIME would have been to jump on it close to the beginning AND have an upload pipe at least as large as the original seeder. Otherwise it’s fruitless.

You can use a seedbox on dime but you need to pay to have one monthly or annualy. But they also work great for doing online trades.Thats what I use it works great for keeping your ratios sky high on all sites.Or you can just jump on some torrents when they first hit the site build your ratio then delete them you don’t have to like the band. There is too much good stuff on ratio sites like dime and thinking others with fast connections or seedboxes are gonna upload less because some people have slowere connections will never happen.

I bring this up at Dime’s Yahoo forum every year or two … but it pretty much amounts to a waste of time.

Here is my initial message (I think you need to be a member of Dime’s Yahoo Group to read messages posted in it):

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/bt-dimeadozen-org/message/124935

I brought up the idea of doing away with share ratios a few years ago, and it was almost unanimously shot down as a bad idea.

Like a lot of things in this technology-based world in which we live, torrenting has continued to evolve. So I’d like to revisit this idea.

I’ll start by pointing out this:

I uploaded a 23.29GB blu-ray torrent yesterday. So far it’s been downloaded 122 times.

The four top uploaders still remaining on the torrent as of this posting have uploaded the following amounts:

597.94 GB
334.12 GB
324.23 GB
285.85 GB

This comes out to a little over 1542GBs.

Divide 1542 by 23.29 and you get 66+. So four uploaders account for more than half of all the completed downloads. Of the 86 seeders, only 12 have managed to upload 23.29GBs.

We’ve reached a point where the vast majority of people are never going to be able to download a torrent this size and seed back what they downloaded. The result is that some trader friends of mine are reluctant to download shows like this, because even though they have what used to be reasonably good upload bandwidth – it isn’t anymore. They simply can’t compete with the increasing number of Dime members who can crank out upload speeds of several megabytes a second.

I would like to propose the idea of having a leech free week (or better yet, a leech free two weeks). I don’t think it will be detrimental to the good order of the site. The heavy hitters are still going to upload – just like the four big uploaders in the torrent I mentioned above.

Erwe has had leech free days before, so I assume it wouldn’t require a lot stretch that to a longer period.

If after a leech free week (or two weeks), it’s apparent that the site can’t function properly, then discontinue it.

Thoughts?
