If you order tickets for the new Van Halen tour through Ticketmaster.com, you are given an option during the ticket selection process to add a Collector’s Edition vinyl set to your ticket order for an additional $54.98

The text reads, “Pre-order Van Halen’s “A Different Kind of Truth: EXCLUSIVE Tour Collector’s Edition” Vinyl Album now. This exclusive double Gatefold LP Vinyl includes all 13 songs on 2 LPs plus custom LP artwork and the Deluxe MP3 Edition of the album.”

They are also offering the Deluxe CD ($15.98) and MP3 version ($14.98). The full text of the offer is below.

Pre-order Van Halen’s “A Different Kind of Truth: EXCLUSIVE Tour Collector’s Edition” Vinyl Album now. This exclusive double Gatefold LP Vinyl includes all 13 songs on 2 LPs plus custom LP artwork and the Deluxe MP3 Edition of the album. Also available is the deluxe edition of the album on CD or MP3. The deluxe edition includes “The Downtown Sessions”, 4 acoustic video performances on DVD or QT .mov files – “Panama”, “You and Your Blues (intro)”, “You and Your Blues” and “Beautiful Girls”! Please Note: “A Different Kind of Truth” will be released on 2/7/12. The Exclusive Tour Collector’s Edition and the CD will ship separately from your tickets and will be delivered within 4-6 weeks after placing your order. The MP3 will be delivered to your email from the Ticketmaster Digital Store on the release date for orders placed by 1/28/12 (or within 10 days for later orders). From the looks of it the image in the top left corner of the inside of the album looks like the Tattoo lyrics that VHND posted.

Plus all the drawings on the inside look like the ones Dave had on his site up until it was time to GET READY! I saved all those drawings to hard drive and even printed and framed a few.

pickin it up……..this will be a limited edition. They’re not sending it out till on or around the 24th of Feb. Meaning (I think) they’re going to press just the preorders and some extras….so it may be a Very LImited run.

It’s available via Ticketmaster & LiveNation. It wasn’t available thru TicketHorse, which is who I purchased my tickets from, so I wonder if it’ll be made available anywhere else. The $54.95 price tag isn’t that bad, especially for collector’s such as myself, but I’ll be pissed if I see it offered elsewhere for much less afterward.
