My wife and I spent 3 hours visiting my mom at the nursing home today. She’s 86 and in a wheel chair but she still has her wits about her. We took in a bowl of sea food chowder for her lunch which she loved and she said she really enjoyed our company and this made us feel great. She was quite a singer in her day, so every Monday night I take my Tele and my Line6 Micro Spider and have a sing song. Over the last few years I’ve learned a bunch of old standards from the 30s and 40s and we belt them out for a couple hours. I even throw in Big Bad Bill and Ice Cream Man for a little VH flavor. Kinda warms the heart a little.

I bought a Super Big Gulp at 7-11 today from my daughter who works there. I love Super Big Gulps (and my daughter) and it’s good see my kid make some $$ before she heads off to college this fall.

I heard my 2 year old Great Niece say my name for the first time.

Wife’s family coming over for supper. Going to make 2 smoked chickens on my Weber smoker. (been in the brine for 24 hours) also going to make Apple Bourbon baked beans on my Weber charcoal kettle BBQ. I love to grill for others and my bakes beans will put a huge smile on their face.
