id='q-28897'>
Good read thanks for posting the article but here is my take on music sales(i don’t claim to be an expert just my 2 cents worth). We are a family of 5 with three teens in the house only one of us(me) ever steps foot in a music section of any retail store. I’m also the only one who will look at CDs and flip through them and will usually come out with a few cds so maybe spend $20 -$25 once a month i’ll listen to all of them and find some good songs they don’t play on radio. So i probably spend a couple of hundred a year on music in store and also iTunes cards so i can pick up some extra songs from cds i can’t find here in Winnipeg. So maybe $300 per year. The other 4 family members only get their music from iTunes cards which usually come at Christmas or birthdays so maybe $100 per year maybe less. They will pick the popular songs that get radio play for $1.29 here and there and don’t care to listen to the whole cd just what is being pushed onto them on radio and TV and their friends. So the kids are spending $1.29 here and there instead of $12 to $15 that i would spend but they are satisfied with that. I’ll have to say that it was more fun flipping through albums at the store than CDs but don’t expect our kids to by albums(even if they could get the music they want on album) because they would still want that music on their ipods and iPhones. Maybe if they didn’t play the same songs over and over on the radio people might hear other songs and buy the whole cd.That’s just my 2 cents worth right or wrong i don’t know.<br
