I recently discovered a new (?) form of CD called Blu-spec CD2.

I haven’t purchased any discs in this format, but I did my research and it’s supposed to be a high-fidelity format that was introduced in 2012 by Sony Music Japan. I guess it’s the same technology as a Blu-ray.

Has anyone made a CD purchase with this format? What’s the sound quality like? Can you actually tell the difference between this, a standard CD, UHMCD, and/or SHM-CD?

After a cursory look, I’d say it was a marketing gimmick.
