Legend has it that by the time Van Halen’s 5th studio album, Diver Down was released Diamond Dave Lee Roth was getting fed up that he was being constantly criticised for only writing songs about his own vision of the American Dream – ie. girls, partying, sex and cars. The only thing is, is that DLR had never actually written a song about a car – so on 1984 he put that right with Panama. And it is to Panama that we pay tribute here with this awesome Van Halen clothing.

PT5150: Are they official ?

Are these licensed Van Halen items of clothing? No.

But since they don’t contain any copyrighted Van Halen logos, images or phrases, there shouldn’t be a problem with the EVH lawyers. (IANAL)
