These are some of the thoughts and emotions I’ve been feeling over the last 24 hours or so.

I finally get to the point in this episode where I think I’m going to hear this awesome, but disguised, interview… and the curtain is pulled back to reveal….. Just Dave and Dave talking about stuff they heard.

WHERE IS THE SOURCE?

These past 2 weeks I’ve been so looking forward to getting to this part of the cast and listening intently to this mystery person with the disguised voice (like this), and all I get is the two Dave’s talking!!

I’m so utterly disappointed and upset that I can’t even pay attention to what they are talking about. All I am doing is thinking “hurry up and stop summarizing what you’ve heard and start the interview!” The segment opened with the tease of a 2+ hour interview, and all we get (looking at the timestamps) is a second-hand, 60 minute summary, told by two guys that at times can’t even agree on what they’ve heard!!

I’ve been a loyal listener, sometimes contributor, met and hung out with the Dave’s over the years, and this month they peed on my head and told me it’s raining.

No this isn’t going to stop me from listening to future episodes….. I’m just sad.

I’m sorry you feel that way, but there certainly was no intent at deception. We did say right there in the description that not even the voice could be used. I understand what you’re saying, but I think if you do give it a good listen, you will find the discussion interesting. It was indeed not the ideal scenario, but we did our best to make lemonade out of lemons. Thanks as always for your feedback and support.

A 24-hour cooling off period wasn’t enough obviously, as you can tell I was still pretty hot about the whole mess.
3 days later and I’m feeling better about it. I’ve had a chance to re-listen, but will still need a 3rd go at it.
While there was no intent at deception here, I’m sure Sammy would say the same about the Lockdown sessions CD, yet LD would beg to differ.

LARRY WHITE DISCUSSES “RUNNIN’ WITH VAN HALEN” RADIO SPECIAL & 1988’s MONSTERS OF ROCK TOUR

EPISODE #80 – Back in 1978, Larry White went on the road with Van Halen to create a promotional radio special called “Runnin’ with Van Halen” for Warner Brothers Records. Fast forward 10 years, White returned on the road with VH for 1988’s Monster of Rock tour. White talks to the Daves about his experiences working during both eras of the band. The interview is followed by a collage of backstage interview clips from his radio show. A massive dollop of VH News plus a healthy mailbag segment round out this August episode.

ART DESIGNER DANIEL GRAY DISHES ON THE “ED BY ZLOZ” BOOK

EPISODE #82 – Neil Zlozower – the world’s greatest rock photographer – has dropped his new book, “Ed By Zloz.” This 384-page book with over 300 unseen photos was curated by art designer Daniel Gray, who hand selected each picture from Zlozower’s personal archives. Gray talks to the Daves about the entire odyssey of compiling the book with Zloz and how he helped build it while keeping Van Halen fans in mind.
