For many years I had a bookmark in my browser for the ‘Van Halen’ section on the Wynnco web site. They had lots of old paper contracts that I found interesting (but never bought). So out of interest this morning, I tried loading the bookmark and found the site gone. A quick Google search turns up discussions about how they had been selling fake autographs for many many years, and someone (or a group of people) finally got them shut down over the issue. It seems there is an underground movement to close down some of the bigger fake autograph sellers.

I remember those contracts, some looked pieced together. One of the “contracts” was for Largo 81 but was only 2 pages as was several others only 2 pages. I think they wanted something like $125 for them. I had seen the same thing that they were shut down a year or two ago for fake signatures.
