omahaswine: Dear lord.I feel like an idiot.That post was made very early in the morning before I had my coffee.But yes, Omaha to Springfield is about a 6 hour drive.Much easier venue and I’m almost for sure guaranteed a way better vocal performance.Just a different set.Do you like the old VH with a singer’s voice that is shot, but the great Eddie Van Halen?Or do you like Van Hagar fronted by someone who can actually sing live.Dave is great in the studio (because of retakes and editing) and great twirling that stick during jump, but those are the only 2 positive things I can say about the guy nowdays.Not sure what happened between 2008 and 2015……………..7 years…..lol.

Are you only interested in the vocal performance? I am sorry, but I hate the way Vic Johnson “plays” VH songs. I listened to the Circle on Spotify yesterday driving home from LA to Phoenix, went to see VH on 7-11. Frankly, I was bored with most of the songs, fast forwarded most of the time. Vic is not even in the same league as Ed, not even remotely. I would rather see a legendary band play their asses off, put on a great show. Dave sounds better in person, take my word on this. I was 3rd row, the show was amazing. I have seen VH 50 times, every tour since 82, I loved it. I will be in the pit for Phoenix also, wish I could go 5 more times. The band more than makes up for Dave, they are fabulous. Easy choice, see VH. Oh, I got my video camera in, no problem at all.
