I hear you. I bought a $2800 Suhr relic’d Strat style and I’m still not sure whether I did the right thing. Plays beautifully but I feel kind of weird playing a brand new guitar that looks aged. Maybe I should have just bought a real (expensive) older guitar. Love Suhrs though.

Also weird that EVH has been my favorite musician for about 35 years and I don’t own one piece of his gear. Maybe I need to re-evaluate…
