ron: Which 90 sec samples are you listening to?It’s my understanding that these originated from iTunes Canada as .m4a files. They were them re-compressed into both the MP3 and the YouTube files that have been floating around.Hard to say what the real CD will sound like from all these super-compressed samples.

I believe these are straight from the .m4as. We’ll see what the final album will sound like, but everything sounds very squished together, and honestly they are not enjoyable to listen to, from a sonic standpoint.

The 90 sec. samples reveal a little bit more. :) :)

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

mrmojohalen: Why in the world would you pre-order something that you weren’t even sure that you were going to like ?
Cause I assumed with Dave back in the band it would sound like the old albums did..I prefer the first three albums, and would even throw 1984 into the mix over the Hagar albums, though a few of those where pretty good too, but what I have heard so far is disappointing, but I guess any new Van Halen is better than no Van Halen..

I see that many of the samples have now been pulled from the web. The 30 sec samples from the site in the first post, the 90 second clips that “VHFrance” put up on YouTube, etc…
