The band screwed this one up. Dave was actually in the right place. They seem to have cut off a whole measure from the second verse. Dave went to the right words and the band went to the bridge/chorus. I just copied these from a website, but you’ll get the idea. It should have gone:
Dig those moves, vampire Set me loose, get it higher Throw my rope, loop-de-loop Nice white teeth, Betty Boop. Set it cool real heavy. I ain’t fooled, (the band went to the chorus here…) gettin’ ready. Oooo. Oh baby!
Not a huge deal. You’d think with all that rehearsing, someone would have pulled up the song on YouTube or maybe grabbed a tape off the wall and checked it out. Cool to hear the song live for the first time ever and Ed killed the solo and then did a reprise at the end. Very cool ending.
I think as the tour goes these songs will get better. They’ve probably only had a half dozen rehearsals with Dave. I am also looking forward to what other gems will come out in the shows to come. Maybe DOA will make a comeback as well as HAIL.
No break for changing batteries or memory cards. The Other Ron had a super-high charge battery (stuck way out of the camera), that allowed him to get the whole show non-stop, as well as a large enough memory card. Best break probably would be while Dave sets up for Ice Cream Man. He gets out a low stool, puts on his harmonica, gets his guitar, and his mic set up, deals with his IEM’s, etc…
