Looked and SOUNDED good. Watching to Steven Tyler do his thing with very little drop off (if any) from the 70′s, after watching Dave struggle, is disheartening. Oh well… At least Ed can play the Ice Cream Man solo again after struggling the last two tours….

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

I couldn’t tell, was AVH dressed like Han Solo too?

Here’s two more.
Did anyone ever told Dave that his new version of Dance The Night Away is awful to hear ? I was hoping he’d forget that, and sing it the normal way !

So, I was just thinking about some of the comments about the clothes VH are wearing and it got me to thinking… They are there to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the movie Stone. In the movie, the character “Stone” looks like this…

So, my guess is that they dressed like that as a homage to the movie. I’m probably wrong, but thats what I’ve come up with…

BTW, if you get a chance, find a way to watch it.. Its a great movie, although dated.. Beware, there is a lot of swearing and a little nudity in it.

Tyler’s voice has held up well, I’ll give him that… but I’m still not giving the band a pass for the last 20+ years of pure garbage music. They van hagared themselves in early 90′s.

In Dave’s defense, he was solid in 07/08 and was sick from the get-go in 2012 and never had the opportunity to heal up. He sounds good in the clips I’ve watched from Stone.. 1981 good? No. But good..

That’s an excellent theory, and you’re probably right.

Sorry Vain. Dave sounds just like he did in 2012 – awful. Embarassingly awful. His voice was on the decline in 2007, but not anywhere near as bad as it is now. I don’t think it was/is sickness. I think his voice is just gone from abuse over the years. It lasted longer than Robert Plant’s did – for what it’s worth – but it’s gone. Now he has to figure out how to make it sound ok with what he’s working with, like Plant eventually did. He can’t keep going this way b/c it is painful to hear.

As far as Aerosmith goes, I wasn’t defending the last 20 years of music. I was just pointing out that he can still do pretty much what he did in the 70′s, which is true. Unfortunately Dave can’t. It has nothing to do with liking Hagar either. I’m a Dave guy, but I don’t think we can ignore the obvious anymore….

It’s not so much his voice, it’s his range.

He could suffice by singing in his range, but for whatever reason, he tries too hard.

All, JMHO.

Unfortunately, I think his range has become very narrow at this point. I don’t think he rehearsed or prepped for this show, or it’s just gone. It will be easier to get a good read on the condition of his voice after the Japanese shows. If Dave sounds like this in Japan, than his voice is gone.

I thought Dave sounded fantastic, for his age, during the ’07-’08 tour, but this sounds like he is really struggling. Maybe its jet lag, maybe he’s sick again, maybe it’s just gone.
