jroundy(1418) | This is probably old news here, but I was wondering if anybody has ever tried to get copies of the master tapes from the guy who posted these YouTube clips? He claims to have shot the footage himself. I bet he is willing to sell copies. Unfortunately, he has only posted them in 240p, so he is purposely reducing the quality. I would think with all the masters here that author DVD’s, if a master copy was obtained these would be very special. Forgive me if this has been discussed in the past. To make a very long story short, DJ was supposedly working on getting these to some folks here, but after a very long wait, nothing ever came of it. Last we heard, they were still coming. He was the filmer and the only one with the copy of the masters (to my knowledge). Everything else that circulates is inferior. Hope that helps. While you wait, Ory’s Early Days sets are as good as anything else out there.

How long ago was this? I am guessing if it was more than six months ago, it’s never gonna happen. Damn shame, because the YouTube quality isn’t that bad in 240p. In it’s original form, it has to be much, much better. I asked him through YouTube why the audio sounded off, and he confirmed to me that he mated the audio to the video, but slowed down the audio to match the video footage. Apparently, he didn’t have the ability to speed up the video to match the audio.
