Saw this pop on Twitter. I had to restrain myself from replying. I had my reply “Did you have your volume on?” all typed and ready to hit send. Strength prevailed (for now)

“I just finished listening to “A Different Kind of Truth” by #VanHalen: I’m really disappointed with this album. Nothing notable or memorable”

Probably likes Coldplay.

The poor folks play for keeps down here…They’re the living dead. Nobody rules these streets at night like Van Halen!!

Ha ha, some friends of mine on another message board have this running joke about Coldplay based on a quote from one of the members:
“Coldplay is music for guys who cry while masturbating”.

OMFG, that is funny.

I always thought that Coldplay was for guys that hold girls hair back while they are puking.

Lol…that is a good one.

I’m the opposite. I like banging my wife while blaring Metallica’s “Master of Puppets”. I’m getting to the point where I can almost make it through the first song (Battery) without blowing my wad or losing all my stamina and passing out.

I agree.
I can’t even tell you any song titles accept for Tattoo.

I love the album. If you go to say metal sludge lots of people like it but at the same time plenty of people dislike it or are tearing it apart. This site has a love fest with VH so I rarely hear nothing to bad about them even CVH and Sammy although he gets some hate. This site is fairly positive anyways compared to most on the net but there is plenty of hate out there when it comes to VH.But I could careless the album rocks and Tatto even grew on me.

So if you mainly visit this site and stay away from say metal sludge, blabbermouth or even roth army you would think everyone love the album or Vh but that is not the case.

People are gonna love it. People are gonna hate it. Such is life.

I think it’s the 7th best album they’ve ever done. But that’s just me.

I don’t hate the album, but I don’t really like it either. I enjoy the demos better than the new versions. I’m glad they got back together and made a new album, but for me, I’m already done listening to it. There are definitely some moments of greatness, but overall it just doesn’t do it for me. I’m alright with it, I just listen to all of the other albums :)

I love the album and I am glad it is selling reasonably well. These things, in addition to a great tour make me one happy man! Not to mention, since joining this site my VH DVD collection has almost doubled thanks to some fine men (slimbrspickins, gatomike26, and SRC)!!!

Thanks for sharing your opinions guys! I love listening to demo versions of these songs too. Speaking of which, since I’m a newbie here, I may have missed this. However, has anyone thought of assembling a “ADDKOT” demo version? (A Different, Different Kind of Truth) featuring tracks in order from the demo versions? Would be neat to have the few demos in one compilation. ( we all have them, I know, but one little comp would be cool) I don’t know, maybe dumb ass idea. Most of my ideas do turn out that way :-)

That’s not a dumb ass idea, that would be cool to have just the demo tracks that made it on ADKOT all on one disc.
