Very late in the two set night, I think this was the 2nd to last song.

Thanks for posting….. looks like Fan Halen’s old singer is now in the Atomic Punks. But I could be mistaken.

This guy sounds more like Dave. They have there own YouTube page with some nice videos up.

Ron, how many people were at the show? Looks kinda empty.

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

There were a couple hundred I’d say. As mentioned, this was near the end of the two-set show, and the place had cleared out quite a bit.

Now that you’ve had a chance to watch the video, go back and jump to the 1:40 mark and enjoy the woman in the blue dress that is dancing in the back on the very left side of the shot. I didn’t see her at first, but eventually noticed her “dancing” and adjusted the shot to include her. Enjoy.

I noticed her when you first posted it, I fell about watching her… she’s like a cross between a loaded Tina Turner and an Indian tribal dance

Great band btw, a tribute band is hard enough to make work at the best of times but when you’re emulating the world’s greatest guitarist and the legendary antics of DLR, you deserve a lot of respect and appreciation even for getting somewhere near.

She must be the “Devil With The Blue Dress On” that Mitch Ryder sings about!!

This is the best version of the Atomic Punks…. you should recognize the singer and guitar player. Shame this video isn’t better YouTube quality.

A version that hasn’t existed for close to 5 years….unfortunately.

When the Atomic Punks were on AXSTV, I was thinking what a shame it wasn’t this version of the punks. Would love to have HD footage of this era of the Atomic Punks.

Yeah Atomic Punks w Ralph were incredible. Saw them 4-5 times. And I never had the urge to see any of the VH bands since. They all seem to be a step lesser than that version. But I was actually impressed a bit seeing Fan Halen. Singer was half-decent. But definitely didn’t have the stage command or presence that Ralph seemed to have.
also watched a recent clip of the new Atomic Punks and seemed decent. STill Ralph was the ultimate next to Dave himself. ha

Hey everyone this is Derek the guitar player with FAN HALEN. Thank you for the nice comments above about my band, We work VERY hard at being as “authentic” as possible. I agree that when Ralph was the singer of AP they were the shit but I think our guy (Ernie Berru) gets even closer with his vocal and scream. I hope to meet you guys at a future show!
If you’re so inclined, please become a “Fan” of FAN HALEN on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/fanhalen
Thanks!
-Derek

Derek, welcome to VHT.

I was there that night from Wisconsin, along with a buddy of mine from Pennsylvania. The show was very good, but the venue was questionable. It seemed like EVERYONE was smoking. But the band sounded good and it wasn’t so loud that you couldn’t say something to the person next to you without screaming. :-)

You guys putting together some more video? The guy with the GoPro on a stick seemed to be taking a lot of video/shots.

Agree that venue was not the best. I hope you can catch the show at a real concert venue or casino when we have our full production… http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/vhtribute/DDCasino_zps8d95021a.jpg

Also, we have LOTs of videos on our channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/vhtribute

Here’s one where I used a GoPRO on m headstock…

yeah I definitely appreciate how you guys try to get the stage, clothes and guitars identical to VH. Your bassist had Mike’s 1981 brown/wood bass which is super attention to detail. ha
And def enjoyed some of the deeper tracks I saw that night (AP would occasionally get deep but usually stuck to the main hits).
LOVED seeing Drop Dead Legs. A song I wish VH wouldve played in 1984.
Plus Take Your Whisky Home was rad.
And was def impressed by Ernie’s scream. Was very Dave-like!
