I thought this would make for an interesting discussion. Wanted to know what your favorite performance of a particular song was for the 1979 tour. Not necessarily the best-sounding version (i.e. the 3 soundboards on the official promo video) but maybe a song’s performance you found particularly interesting; maybe the crowd is really into it; maybe Dave says something different; or maybe the band sounds really charged and “on”. Any and all criteria welcome.

Overall I like how they did lots of little bits from WACF. Fools jam is great.

I think 9/10 Osaka Ice Cream Man was cool. Dave did a quick little bit of Could This Be Magic (guitar line) in the intro.

Also same show they start Atomic Punk w Growth. Can’t remember if they always did that.

I think, overall, the Little Rock show was the best of the tour…and that particular BOTTOMS UP! had the best version of “Joe” on the tour!

Gotta love how Dave changes how much he and Al won in every show :-D
This is my favorite version of Joe as well; even the audience reaction is great; dude in the crowd yelling “wake him up!” haha

Also love how Dave announces … “Our new album came out TODAY…” before SGMAD on the Fresno show

Yeah, I like these little tidbits too; in Detroit, he mentions “we’re celebrating that this week Van Halen number 2 will finally go platinum” before DTNA
