Spammy is going to to do a cover of Depeche Mode’s, “Personal Jesus”. I always thought “Mas Tequila” was a rip off of “Rock and Roll Part 2″, but this song is also very similar as far as the beat/tempo. Plus, he uses the phrase “personal Jesus” in the most epic lyrical fail of all time, “Up for Breakfast”. I don’t see this as being all that unusual.

Gary Glitter was credited and received royalties for the song, so I’m not sure “rip off” is the appropriate term. Maybe more like “source material”.

Other tracks from the up-coming SH & Friends CD:
“All We Need Is An Island” duet with Nancy Wilson.
“Knock Down Drag Out” duet with Kid Rock.
“Going Down”

Crazy enough that it might work.

Thanks for the additional info, Ron. The duet is with Nancy Wilson, not Ann Wilson? Is Sammy afraid he can’t keep up with Ann’s pipes? :-D

More like Sammy’s afraid he couldn’t keep up with Ann at the buffet line!

Sammy specifically stated Nancy Wilson in a recent interview. He didn’t mention Ann. He may not have meant it as a singing duet, but more of a musical collaboration. (?)

Kid Rock…..seriously?!?!?!? Next thing you know Eddie will be collaborating with LL Cool J!

Seriously, Sammy is really going down hill with these collaborations. I would be up for a new Sammy solo album with fresh new material, but just make it with his own band, no more collaborations……also, please get back to Rock n Roll. reading the title “all we need is an island” concerns me that it will be some slow ballad…..ugh!

What’s wrong with Kid Rock? He’s a helluva an entertainer and puts on a great show. He’s done duets with Cheryl Crow and Bob Seger (among others).

Full Disclosure: He’s a homeboy, so I am a bit biased.

So Sam is going the Tony Bennett route.

I don’t know how excited I am about more cover tunes, however, I do prefer them over bluegrass versions of his past catalog. Just saying…

That would be so cool ! Imagine Bluegrass versions of “I’ve Done Everything For You” & “Heavy Metal”.
