I know the 2015 tour is rockin and this may be a bit to old school but I miss “Frankenstein!” Don’t get me wrong, I love the cool new beat up looking cream colored guitar, love the Wolfgang model’s, even his self created striped guitars that he would play then auction off etc. on the last tour or two but I miss the Frankenstein. The classic red, white and black baby!! I got no problem with Edward mixing in a solid colored wolfgang here and there…..the black stealth is cool…….but IMO the main guitar(s) should have the classic red, white and black stripes!!

Why did he go away from that? For heaven’s sake, Edward put a patent on the stripes, the VH Store sells anything and everything from ties to sneakers to beach towels with the classic red.black and white stripes but that signature guitar look is a rarity these days. Why? Is there a reason I am missing?

Can anyone tell me what happened, why the stripes and Frankenstein have gone away……….I miss it and want that back!

Anyone?

My guess is that he can sell more Wolfgangs than he can Frankensteins. Not to mention, he’s put a ton of research into the Wolfgang and he might like it more than the Frankie. All pure conjecture on my part though.

I miss it too. But even more I miss the crazy striped socks, overalls, etc. Good times! It’s a little surprising that he doesn’t break out a classic red, white and black guitar for at least one song. They’re iconic.

It may be a point in time that the guitar is too valuable to play on the road (anything can happen). Also the Wolfgang is the cumulation of everything he’s done with a guitar to this point so why not use the current creation for what Ed needs on stage.

I hear you…..I guess what I am saying is a bit like Gilligan……just go back and use the red, black and white stripes. They are indeed iconic.

Fully agree, the iconic stripes are awesome, but that being said, I did like the black background with the red & white look

Check out this pic of Dave from last night. What guitar is he holding? Is that really the 5150?

Never mind. Dutchie answered my question. It’s an inflatable 5150. More pics at VHND.
