From a guy a links might be worth a look for anyone that can watch or record it..

For any other Brits (or those with access to BBC 4 television), this is just to let you know that there is a documentary on tonight (Friday, 10th Jan) at 9pm, entitled “The Golden Age of American Rock”. Apparently, it is going to include quite a bit of analysis of VH – which is a first for the BBC, as far as I know.

EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”.

It transpires that the above is an on-going, weekly series: sixties this week; seventies next week; eighties the week after. If we get any interesting insights / footage.

Nothing in episode 1. Small sniff of Dave in Panama video. Mostly the doors, stones, Hendrix , mc5 etc. Maybe VH on Friday?

I’m sure VH will be mentioned next week, but as its pretty unlikely anyone from the band will be interviewed I can’t see them getting much airtime…. the British press have always hated them and with no UK gigs in 19 years they haven’t exactly got a high profile.

Watched 3rd episode last night. 3 or 4 mins of VH. No interviews with band. Panama, jump clips plus quality 84 donington footage and 86 guitar solo!

It was possibly the most positive British TV feature on the band I’ve ever seen, normally they just take the piss but this time they got it right about VH being the primary influence on US hard rock bands in the 80s. Interesting to see a short clip of the Donnington 84 footage on the telly again after all these years albeit cropped and zoomed in to fit a 4:3 image into a 16:9 program.
