This Friday will be a historic event for our family. My 9 year old son (who is the coolest kid ever) will be taking in his first ever Van Halen live experience.

I can’t wait to witness it from his perspective. He actually really likes Van Halen. He still thinks for some reason that the band is only Eddie Van Halen (he keeps saying we’re going to see Eddie Van Halen). Well, actually he’s kinda right!

I’m excited for myself to attend the show, but my eyes are gonna be on my boy taking in the show. Another generation of lifelong Van Halen fan about to be introduced to the world. Here’s a video of the boy from about 3 years ago (long hair like Dad back then)

That is very cool Eric. I’ve been able to do the same with both my sons. My oldest got to see them for the first time in 2007 at the age of 11 and my youngest got to see them in 2012 when he was 11. It is a great experience to have with them.
