Paul Riario of Guitar World recently got his hands on an EVH Wolfgang WG Standard for a video demo.
While taking a deep dive into this version of Eddie Van Halen’s main axe, the music mag’s tech editor came away impressed by the attention to detail and the guitar’s price.

I’m teaching a buddy to play and he picked up one of these. Very nice guitar for the money. Neck feels great and it stays in tune like it should. I recommend getting one if anyone is on the fence.

I have to give it to Ed, the EVH line of guitars are fantastic for the price. I live in a small town an hour outside of Detroit and I have been playing EVH Peaveys and EVH gear for years and I’m seeing more and more people buying them around here. They play great, sound great, look great and they hold up to wear and tear for a very reasonable price. EVH really lives up to the Van Halen standard, IMO.
Czech music retailer MusicData recently had a local shredder come in to store and test out a limited edition EVH Wolfgang Special with red, black and white stripes.
Luckily, there were cameras around to document the demo, which was played through an EVH 5150III head.

Guitar World recently took some time to run through the EVH 5150III 1×12 50-Watt Combo, taking special note of the amp’s ability to perform at a high level in venues where hauling around a half-stack would be overkill.
In a video demo, GW’s Paul Riario paid special attention to the power level control that allows the player to adjust the output from 50 watts down to a single watt.
“If you want an amp that just sounds fantastic all-around, this is the one,” he said. “Definitely check it out.”
Likewise, GW reviewer Chris Gill was impressed with the value and versatility of the amp.
