And just for shits and giggles – here is what the ‘experts’ at ESPN are predicting:

I am bummed.

Picking the Kings to win it now. If Quick continues to play at this level they are going to be nearly impossible to beat.

Logic clearly suggests that a long break in between series is a good thing – because at this point in the season, everyone has got at lease a few dings and is tired. However, teams that get a long break often come out rusty and don’t do well until after a couple games into the next series. This still happens ever though the teams know about this often happening.

So I’m glad that neither team gets a long break. I want to see them both head into the championship series hot off whipping ass in the conference finals.

I’m going to give the edge to the Bruins in the finals. Rask held the highest scoring team in the league (Pens had 165 goals during the regular season) to a total of two goals in the conference finals. TWO goals. He stopped 134 of 136 shots on net.

I give the edge to the Blackhawks. Crawford has the best stats of all the goalies in the playoffs. Yes Boston held the Penquins offense to very few goals but remember the Penquins play no defense at all. Hawks also have home ice and first two at home could be huge with two teams who are very similar. Again I think the speed of all four Hawk lines will be the difference maker. Nice to see two original six teams in the finals. First time since 79. This could be the best final in years. I say Hawks in 6.
I remember before playoffs started watchin guys on NHL Network make their predictions for the cup winner and the Conn Smythe trophy. 5 guys made picks. 2 said Penquins with Crosby as mvp. 3 said Hawks, 1 had Kane as mvp.1 had Toews and E.J Radek picked Chicago and Corey Crawford as the mvp. E.J might be right on the money.

2013 playoffs:
Crawford – .935 save percentage and 1.74 GAA
Rask —— .943 save percentage and 1.75 GAA

Conference finals:
Crawford allowed 2.2 GAA (11 goals in five games)
Rask allowed 0.5 GAA (2 goals in four games)
