Is there a reason why this hasn’t been torrented yet? It seems like a lot of people (myself included) are having trouble with the links.

Can you be more specific about the trouble you’re having with the links?

sickman: Surprised so many have had problems. It couldn’t have worked smoother for me. Created a Van Halen LA Forum folder in My Documents. Down loaded each of the 5 VOB files and directed them to that folder. Then downloaded the zip folder to my documents and extracted the files inside to the VH LA Forum folder. Then opened up my burning software, I use Copy TO DVD, added all the files to the program and hit Create.

agree it was totally easy for me

I’m having trouble with this as well. I followed the directions to a “T” and still can’t burn a usable DVD. I re-named the .mpeg files .VOB files and IMG Burn just pretends like they’re not even in the folder with the unzipped files (that didn’t have to be re-named). It burns a disc in a minute that just has the files that were unzipped. Very frustrating. Anyone have any ideas????

If you’re using Windows 7, do you have to have administrator privileges to rename files?

Is this an IE8 issue, or does it also affect IE9?

Randy – I am using Windows 7 and it appears I have full permission. I double checked by right clicking on the downloaded files that I’ve re-named .VOBs files, then went to Properties and Security and it’s checked off as “Full” permission for all. I already changed them by following the directions given and they now appear as .VOB files in the visible name; however, when I right click on the files and look at the general tab, they are still listed as Movie Clip (.mpeg) files next to “Type of File”. I’m assuming this means it wasn’t changed, so I don’t know what else to do. Can you help??

Are you viewing the full filename with extensions by default?

Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.

Click the View tab, and then, under Advanced settings:

To display file extensions, clear the Hide extensions for known file types check box, and then click OK.

You need to do the following, if not… by changing the file extension won’t do anything.

Folder Options->View Tab, make sure “Hide extensions for known file types” is unchecked and then hit Apply.
Go back to your downloaded files and rename the extension from .MPEG to .VOB

You should be good to go.

Tony

EDIT: like Ron said :)

Here is a screen shot of what the folder should look like. Like I said, it worked fine for me.
