guitard(7354) | I saw Jon Anderson (of Yes fame) back in 2010 and he told a great story about him and his brother playing a club gig in Sheffield back in the early ’60s. They were joined on stage by this skinny 16 year old kid for a few songs and they were amazed at his singing ability. That skinny 16-year old – was Joe Cocker. My sister went to a Joe Cocker show in the early ’70s. He was nipping on a fifth of whiskey during the show and by the time he had finished the bottle, he was so drunk, the crew had to carry him off of the stage. They don’t make ‘em like that anymore. RIP Joe.
