Picked up on this at links.

Anyone know of this or the dinosaurs video from 1981 Dutchie and Jeff are talking about??

From the website Songfacts.com. http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=1473

” Van Halen made a video for this song, but the band barely cooperated as they had no interest in the medium. MTV had recently launched, so Van Halen’s label hired the director Bruce Gowers to shoot one of their concerts and turn it into a video. He shot the concert, but the band provided no additional lighting on stage. Gowers handed the footage off to Robert Lombard, who owned a production company and pieced together the clip. The band loved the results and decided to make more videos. Their next one, which they had Lombard direct, was for their cover of “(Oh) Pretty Woman.”

No one seems to know what song the dinosaur video was for. Actually, hardly anyone has even heard about the dinosaur video, in the first place! I’ll put the dinosaur video pics on the vhnd in the near future. Definitely 1981.

We dug up these rare, never before published photos of Van Halen and some giant dinosaurs on location for a video shoot for the Fair Warning album. We are not sure which song this video concept was for, but we do know that these dinosaurs never made it off the cutting room floor.

This is referring to the Oakland ’81 videos, it is from the book “I Want My MTV: The Uncensored Story of the Music Video Revolution”

I think this is my new favorite “lost video.” I’d never heard of this before, but that last picture is hilarious!

I have all the VH Inside issues. They are a must have for any serious VH fan.

These “supposedly” Unchained video pix remind me of AC/DC’s jailbreak video for some reason (minus the dinosaur….lol). Must just be the drums/band setup in the wilderness thing, I dunno….

Hey Wes I have all THE INSIDE mags too they were great.
Aksed Jeff a few times if they would produce them again but he has said no.Think the cost to publish too expensive for what they got in treturn.

Was’nt it the Unofficial then became the official VH magazine.

You would think a band as big as VH would have a fan club with a magazine like The Inside.

Got all the band to sign various photos from The Inside when they were here in 98.
Mike was suprised we got it in Australia.

That was cool.
Jeff was asking for people to send in a letter and photos of their experience of meeting the band.Did not think I would make the magazine.
Would be great if the band did a fan magazine once a month.

The Inside was so great. I have all the issues (somehow they did make it to Australia; though it took ages to arrive and the post office did lose issue 3, 2 times). I was sad when the magazine folded.
