VAN HALEN Not In Discussions With SAMMY HAGAR

Despite wild rumors and other media outlets stating as so, I can absolutely confirm that there are NO talks initiated or going on between VAN HALEN and SAMMY HAGAR and/or MICHAEL ANTHONY.

DAVID LEE ROTH is out of contract with the group and his future is unknown, but sources indicate it is unlikely there will be any further recording or touring with the original vocalist. Which leaves a big, obvious gap in the lineup.

However, based on information from an impecable source close to the Hagar camp, there has been no discussions or communication with the Red Rocker at all.
Hagar’s 2016 plans seem to revolved around his CIRCLE lineup recording original material and continuing their touring.

DAVID LEE ROTH meanwhile is indeed looking for the right opportunity to reunite with the Eat Em And Smile lineup, but there is no word if that will go beyond the one event at this stage.

I split this off from the Steinberger Guitar thread.

Never say never. It is all about money if someone pays them enough!! Axl and Slash might be a good example if they get together in 2016.

I agree Brian anything is possible with VH.
The way the band was sounding on this last tour it would be a waste to stop.
I think something will happen in 2016 after Wolf’s album comes out.

I think it would be really cool if Wolf tours and Ed plays in his backing band; which would make it possible to see Ed in some small venues. I’m sure Ed would love to do that, but probably wouldn’t because his presence would direct most of the attention away from Wolf.

I’m sticking to that theory as well.. The opportunity to do an all-VH ’3-twins’ thing is too tempting for Ed to pass up. Wolf can sing. I really think it will happen.

Resident dickhead. I will hurt your delicate feelings.

I would agree IF it was an Al, Ed, and Wolf thing. But I’m pretty sure that it will specifically be a Wolf Van Halen show and VH Inc. will make a concerted effort to present it as something other than a traditional Van Halen show so that Wolf has a chance to establish himself in his own right. In other words, if it’s an Al, Ed, and Wolf show – anyone who shows will be thinking “Van Halen concert,” and not “Wolf Van Halen concert.”

I feel like Ed will shy away and let Wolf do his thing. Maybe Edward shows up and plays at some select shows but for the most part stays away from the stage. I would imagine he will get a lot of joy watching Wolf from the sidelines.

love mine… Even my buddy Scott Smith got mention for gifting his Rasta Strat to Ed late in the tour.

Its funny, I called Scott the night I got the mag in the mail last week and was like…. “dude you got mention in the mag” and he didnt even know about it. He said he knew they were taking photos but did not know he would get mention. I thought that was cool and so did he.

That’s cool that Scott got to give Ed his guitar. I was a bit exited when I first saw the photo . I thought that the Rasta might be the next Striped Series guitar and Ed was road testing it… I bet it gets released soon though.

Also what does Ed say in the interview?
Thanks.

not really sure on how it happened. Scott is a friend of mine but does not normally offer up too much info on details and unless he tells I dont ask out of respect. I know him and Ed have been very tight for a long time. The mag is awesome. Lots of info on his equipment and guitars. Definately worth grabbing online if you can.
