The guy selling the framed 1984 stuff is out of his mind. Even if I had all the money in the world I’d never pony up $4000 for a picture frame and 4 sigs. Crazy.

i’ve got the Green, Black, and Cream color version of that poster when they played here in South Dakota…..but seriously $800.00????? I have an original (from the day, not a recent reprint) March 1974 “formally known as Mammoth” back yard party flyer signed and its appraisal didn’t even come in at $800. Damn some people.

I have that shirt but it was a 3/4 length sleeve. Bought it at a store back around 1984.

Maybe this t-shirt has been sitting in a box, in a cool room somewhere for the last 33 years – and that’s why it looks brand spanking new.

Or maybe …. it really is brand spanking new.

Hi, would love your constructive feedback on a lot I posted on ebay a couple of weeks ago. Seriously wish I had met you all before I did it, as I am somewhat overwhelmed by the extent of your collective knowledge on this subject. OCD doesn’t come close to covering it.

[code] http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231152914120?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Can’t tell you how much I am loving the site and would love to get to know you all better over time, and fully intend to stick around, if that’s ok? So many questions.

Anyway, what do you think? Asking too much? Pissing in the wind? Be seriously grateful for your opinions – just don’t kill me. Breaking my heart as it is to even consider letting this lot go, despite still having some good stuff to hang on to.

Cheers

Did you buy that new? Unfortunately around here most have a franky that cost much much less than those Fender Franky’s. The one I have is as close in paint and materials used as the Fender with the proper reflectors, 1971 Quarter, a working single coil, Frankenstein pick up etc. The only thing not up to snuff on mine is that it has a Floyd Rose Special and not an original. It cost me $600 USD. I’ve seen yours on ebay and the extras your throwing in are great. It has to kill you to give it up. I can understand you not wanting to take a hit on it but I believe they have sold for much less on ebay than the $20,000 USD you are asking. I think I remember hearing $11,000. Anyway, nice guitar and goodies thrown in. Good luck with it.

Always wanted a Franky could never afford it. Although there is a LP in your vinyl photo I’m not aware of, and would greatly appreciate any info, pictures you could send me Its on the left side of the photo and the cover is orange. Its says in small letters something Van Halen and under that in large letters The Rock Gu____. Guy jumping in the air. Would be interested in buying that if no one wins the bid on ebay……………….

Mikey, it was PP’s collection that prompted me to contact him on ebay (still think he should sell the goodies separate, first dibs on the vinyl PP LOL!) I told him about the vht fam.
Regarding the disc your on about I think it was a play in the style of LP like the Curt Mitchell stuff, I’ll see if I can find a store that was selling it on the net they had a good description of it.

Yes I bought it new, pre-ordering via a Fender dealer in the UK, as only 25 of the 300 were scheduled for Europe. It was one of those mid-life crisis type moments dovetailing conveniently with having the money in my pocket at the time and the opportunity to own an iconic part of my musical DNA. On the plus side it was cheaper than plastic surgery or a mistress and I don’t ever regret buying it. It has brought me an immense amount of pleasure. It really is gorgeous.

I have left the listing open to offers as well, so maybe someone will be hitting the same type chemical imbalance that I did, round about now! Great also to know that they same can be achieved at a fraction of the cost, should I manage to move it on.

Hi,
Cant work out how to upload pics on to the forum, but the album is called How to become a Superstar VAN HALEN – THE ROCK GUITAR

On the reverse, there are slow and normal versions of Jump, You Really Got Me, I’ll Wait, Hot for Teacher and House of Pain on Side A. On side B, again there are slow and normal versions of Beat It, Drop Dead Legs, Girl Gone Bad, Push Comes To Shove and my fave all time VH song Hear About It Later.

All played by:- Katsumi Kobayashi (Guitar), Naoki Fukuda (Guitar), Toshihiro Shimada (Bass), Akihiro Ityama (Drums) and Hiroki Uematsu (Keryboards)

Released by CBS Sony in 1984.

Inside there is a fabulous 16 page booklet in Japanese with what looks like some kind of TAB type signature and set up diagrams in huge detail.

Everything is in mint condition and I will be happy to email pics if you want to see it.

If I can’t get the guitar away with the added lure of the collection, then for what it is worth, I might just hang on to the vinyl, so I don’t want to get hopes up unnecessarily. Just a chance to share some information in the first instance I will see what happens with the listing and review later.

Cheers

Steve.

There are several of those around. I know of one for Gary Moore, and one for Yngwie Malmsteen.
