VAiN: What makes you think they did anything to Romeo Delight?

I mean they changed the order of the track list from what was originally played.

I can’t imagine they would release a live CD without a guitar and drum solo?! I also can’t believe they’re wasting their time releasing this show which is all over the internet in audio and video format. You can get the entire show for free or pay for an edited, altered version? My God, these guys just don’t get it.

guitar and drum solo?!
when I saw VH in 2007 I would have gone for a piss break during the DS but the recording wouldn’t have sounded too good from the bathroom, and the solo was not long enough for me to get back before UC….

Why wait for the CD when you can watch the whole show, unedited, on YouTube? I’m surprised they haven’t tried to have all of these shows pulled.

There’s a big difference between audience recordings on YouTube and professionally-recorded, officially-released product. Pros and cons of post-production editing and re-recording aside, I’m a little excited to hear the new release. As long as it’s better than Live: Right Here Right Now, anyway. The press release specifically mentions mastered by Chris Bellman, which is a positive sign that it might actually sound pretty good.

I think that is what has killed off bands touring .. who wants to buy it or go see them when you can get it for free?..the official release will be better than that..but Id still rather see them live..

I think it will be most interesting to compare it to the multiple-IEM and audience matrix audio recording we already have.

I understand that the production will be better. My point is why go through all of this just to release a live CD set of a show that is available in its entirety online for free. They edit the show and cut songs out of the setlist. I loved that show specifically because it was a longest show they performed on that tour. Plus, an accompanying BluRay would have made it much more appealing, but, as always, it’s all about pushing the back catalog over and over and over.

PT5150: Tune in 12 noon EST (10 am The Drive time) for Panama live. On FB, the DJ is now saying he will play it close to noon (when he goes on air).

You have to remember – while unofficial recordings are common knowledge to the folks here at VHT – 99% of the fans:

1. Know that bootlegs exist … but haven’t a clue where to find them.
2. If they did make the effort to find them …
a. They don’t know how to use bittorent.
b. If they figure out bittorrent, they can’t figure out what to do with ‘flac’ files after downloading them.
c. They figure out flac files, but don’t know how to burn discs (don’t laugh – for someone in their 50s who didn’t grow up with computers – this is not a far fetched idea).
3. Bootlegs just don’t sound like an official release. It’s an acquired taste.
4. And the list goes on and on …

I get that, but those people aren’t concerned with FLAC or mp3, so they can just search YouTube and find the shows and watch them. Everyone knows how to use YT.
