This is the best! One of the best versions of this, besides Uruguay 2/5 show. Thanks for putting this up.

Looks like you can get a low-res version of the video as a member of historicfilms.com… I assume there’s a hi-res version on file as well.

Wow is this from the last tour? Roth has really lost it; he can’t remember any of the words and he keeps chirping in that high voice. And what’s up with his dancing?! I’d rather he just stand still and get the words right – or at least try to follow the melody. Seriously, the dude needs to hang it up, this isn’t 1983 anymore!

Lots of cool stuff in their archives including every episode of Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert. The video clip shows Rick James performing when his guitar player was playing a replica of the EVH bumble bee guitar.

Yeah they also have a little bit of Van Halen from Oregon 1978……that was available as a download in low res…its in with ACDC if I remember. Historic films does own the rights to the entire US Festival except Judas Priest’s show, I would think they would have released it on Bluray by now

There’s no reason to release any of the US Festival on Blu-ray, it would be overkill. DVD would be adequate, since the show was shot on video, and not film, so there’s no chance of making a hi-def transfer.

Van Halen doesn’t have the rights to release it, not that they ever would even if they did….

Decatone: A group license :?:  http://www.historicfilms.com/pages/fees

Not a bad idea… we set up an LLC, something historical sounding – it could work. I’m on board if anyone wants to give it a shot. I’ve heard dumber ideas.
