Wolfgang Van Halen has yet to release a single song from his long-in-the-works debut solo album, but he’s already
bracing himself for the reaction it might elicit from therock community.
“Being who I am, I think people at least will be interested in what my work will sound like, which is nice,” he wrote on Instagram this week.
“But on the other hand, if it’s not exactly what they want to hear or if I don’t sound ‘Van Halen-y’ enough for them they’ll hate me and won’t give
me the time of day. I’m fully prepared for a wave of hate when my music releases because it won’t be what people think it’ll be.
I’m not trying to be my father; I’m trying to be me.”

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

I don’t know why I love the samples of music he’s put out can’t wait to hear the album.

EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”.

I agree with you Pete. The samples heard are, in my modest opinion, good pieces of music.

By the way, It’s very sad that many people, especially on twitter and instagram have to complain about a record that it’s not out…not yet !

And to be honest, I really don’t understad the bunch of criticism that Wolfie is getting from ” people” who have no clue about his upcoming album.

I have to admit that the world is full of haters…

If i could, I would tell Wolfie to do not worry about critics. He doesn’t need to prove anything to anybody.

He already recorded with Van Halen,as also with Mark Tremonti … and He already played live, with Van Halen as also with Tremonti.

I’m sure that Wolfie’s record will blow us away. No question that it’s gonna be a kick ass album.

I think I’m not the only one here who is waiting for something good !!!

I expect something positive from this young and very talented musician.

Rock on Wolfie, we are waiting for your you and your music !

I honestly am excited to hear what Wolf puts out as its gonna be outstanding no doubt. I hope its not as Van Halen’y as some haters or people think it should be. He is not Eddie Van Halen he is Wolfgang Van Halen and he’s an individual. If I want to hear VH I play Eddie not look for someone to copy his work.

so quite frankly I hope his new album kicks ass (sure it will :) and he develops a new individualistic quality about himself outside of his Dad.

rock on Wolf :)
