Gilligan(1518) | This is all just a theory – no hard data to back it up: BUT! I think I’ve figured this out. Wolfgang’s new album will be titled “Red Herring” because that’s what it really is! The whole “Wolf is recording a new solo album” is just a ruse to distract us from the fact that the band Van Halen is actually recording a new album for release next year. By saying Wolf is recording, the band can explain away any activity at 5150 and go about the business of recording and mixing and whatever-ing their OWN album without much distraction or pressure. We all know how secretive they are about everything and this is the perfect way to put together new stuff right under our eyes without us even noticing! So, I now predict a new album with Dave, Wolf, Ed & Al with new music for early 2018. They can then tour later in the year and celebrate 40 years of VH1 while supporting new music at the same time. The longer this drags on, for me anyway, it is becoming painfully clear there is no Wolf solo album. And I’ve now developed a theory/rumor that explains why.  Discuss.

unchainedheart(1925) | Well there’s a few things that pointed to Van-Halen this year without saying”New tour and album ahead” but left me thinking.New EVH gear,Mike anthony first chat with alex in years, Dave made a donation for Michael’s charity walk,Metallica paid tribute to the Pasadena boys,”Jump” is used in the”Ready player one” movie trailer from Spielberg,Ed’s new hair colour(photo-shoot?),Playboy Ranked every van-Halen song in february etc.. who knows but it would be awesome and specially with mikey.

Dave(2283) | Nice!! Thanks for that Ron. Before Ron sent that, I was going to say I don’t think it’s a red herring at all. Wolf is taking his time because he can. He doesn’t need to put out music or tour because he doesn’t need the money. He also doesn’t have a record company breathing down his back to put the album out (I think).

ron(11495) | While I really like the theory, I couldn’t get out of my mind the semi-recent interview where Valerie Bertinelli gushed about Wolfie playing all the instruments on his upcoming project. I don’t know why Valerie would have any reason to deceive.

Gilligan(1518) | Interesting timing by Wolf, don’t you think. The day after I come up with my perfect theory, he releases a teaser of “his” new album online?! Gimme a break, I will not be fooled by such a rookie diversionary tactic. This is clearly a weak ploy to debunk my new Van Halen CD rumor. Sadly for them, this only reinforces my hypothesis that the VH machine is indeed up and running. Nice try, Wolf.
