The producer of the 40th anniversary release has failed the fans. It would have been very easy to include the ENTIRE 120 minute New Haven show on CDs 2 & 3, if the pointless remixes/edits were added to the first disc in the set. The Live Without A Net Blu-Ray is at least FIFTEEN (!!!) years overdue! 4K UHD discs are the standard in 2026… A 100GB LWAN disc with multiple uncompressed audio tracks would have been far superior, even if the image was locked at 1080p/30fps.
This was a missed opportunity… I doubt there will be another 5150 reissue before physical formats disappear. Don’t get me wrong, I’m planning to buy the 5150 40th Anniversary set around Black Friday at a steep discount. However, this set is not worth more than $50 to me.
