Which explains sluggish sales, falling ticket prices at smaller venues. Van Halen really isn’t a “relevant” band in today’s music scene. They rely on their diehard fan base to make this stuff happen. They can still put 6,000-7,500 butts in the seats and then have to discount the remaining 2-3,000 or so seats, not to mention the lawn tickets when available. The top dollar, front row VIPs seemed to have sold well. The lower packages did OK, but certainly aren’t selling out in every market. I’m hoping some of those $750 packages in Detroit are released the day of the show, so I can upgrade my seat. VOODOOQuote | |
