EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”.

They should sell the nightly recordings like a lot of bands do.

Agreed. Doesn’t seem like many full boots (audio) are surfacing so far.

I am so bummed that not many shows are out there. Lots of youtube clips but not full shows or audio. I would have bet before the tour started that we would have seen a lot more than what’s out right now. Hoping they show up eventually.

There are a lot less boots out there than the previous tour. I am wondering whether people who used to tape (audio) shows now do not bother now because an entire show will show up on youtube clips.

People who tape audio know that the quality of the mics, the way the mics are deployed, location of the taper, format of the recording, etc., etc. are all important factors in getting a nice recording – and the quality of audio from a bunch of random clips recorded with iPhones and point-and-shoot cameras is so far removed from the quality you get with a traditional style audio recording that you can’t even begin to compare them.

That isn’t to say you’re wrong though. If old-school tapers think that people are no longer interested in their recordings because they are, as you say, available on Youtube, then that might be a reason for not recording. But most audio tapers do it first and foremost for their own enjoyment, so I kind of doubt that’s what’s happening.

That’s exactly true for me. One reason why I got in the habit of going to so many shows was because I wanted to record as many shows as possible. Between my equipment problems, old age/being out of practice and so many sources for most shows the last couple tours, as well as focusing on permitted video recording, I had all but given up on trying to record this tour. The lack of publicly released audios & feeling the urge to record at my favorite venues I’m gonna give it a whirl.

I’m going to the Birmingham and possibly Atlanta shows. Never recorded before but willing to try. Any suggestions are appreciated, including equipment.

Great to hear. Your recordings are some of the best IMO. I hope you decide to go for it.
