I’ve been watching your footage at work – well done! It’s super good!

Thanks guys. I learned from some of the best by watching the shows from here over the years.

So who’s the person with the paper sign in front of you & did you get on their case ?

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

I went to the show and enjoyed it a lot! Things that stuck out to me:

- Kenny Wayne Sheperd is a great guitarist! I agree that he was one of the best opening acts VH had had. Guy was smart to do some covers, including closing with Voodoo Chile. Dude played part of the solo behind his back. C’mon Ed, get on stage with this guy & do a Cream song!

-My seats were right behind the soundboard, which was a lot lower than my seats. So i had an unobstructed view the whole night. Nice!

-Dave struggled vocally, practically talking through some songs. Having said that, he’s been doing that since the 90′s (aside from the 07-08 tour), so it really didn’t bother me. Ed was on fire! He was “on” the whole night. Al & Wolf sounded good as well. Wolf’s bass was pretty high in the mix.

-I loved hearing the rare songs. And there was something right about hearing “You Really Got Me” after Ed’s solo.

-Dave kinda changed up “Ice Cream Man” a bit. He played a lot of harmonica, and the song sounded just a bit different to me even after the band joined in. Surprised me.

-The screen behind them looked more impressive in person than in online pictures.

-Holy cow there were a lot of bootleg shirts! Can’t remember walking out of a show and having 3 guys come up to me, all selling different shirts. And then a cop comes and takes them all away seconds later!

Ha, yeah that was a bit annoying but it was a 13 year old kid holding up a sign that said “It’s my 13th birthday today”

one of the things I forgot to mention about being at this show is I got to hang out with Matt Bruck and have some pics taken with him. Great guy and it was fun chatting with him.

Yes, as well as personal assistant.

yeah it was awesome… he was just tooling around hanging with folks before the show. I went up and started chatting with him. Super nice guy and he actually said, “hey lets get some pics together….”

I think he is also one of Ed’s older guitar tech’s as well as his best friend.

awesome…..

EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”.

Anybody know if there’s any audio or video (besides YouTube) from this show yet?

Unfortunately not. I compiled all available audio from YouTube, the show is almost complete with only “Women In Love” missing plus partial recordings missing from “Everybody Wants Some” and “She’s The Woman”. If anybody is interested let me know and I’ll hook you up with a download link.

No problem Rob, I’ll send you a PM when I get home from work. By the way, I’ve done that for almost any shows of the new tour so far, so whatever you wish, just let me know. Night two at Jones Beach for example is complete and from one single source.
