The thread “New Montevideo ’83 and rumored rumored complete proshot 1984″ has got me thinking. What is the complete list of currently circulating David Lee Roth-Van Halen proshot concerts? There’s 3 full concerts that I know about (Largo 82, US Festival 83, and Buenos Aires 83) plus the 3 vidoes from Oakland 81. I know about about this little clip on YouTube from 1979 and a few news clips but that’s about it.

BTW…anybody know this guy (Kramerboy) that used to post on VHLinks and CVH.com? Last posts were in 2013 but he had some claims of great proshot 80, 84 stuff coming out “soon” — I don’t believe much about VH footage these days, but we know it’s out there under lock and key somewhere…The 84 proshot must be the same thing Fletch saw with his own eyes 8-O

Thanks guys.Been real busy with contacts getting some vintage shit out here for us diehards to sit back, drink up,and enjoy 1978-1984 VanHalen likes its supposed to be.The 84 proshot is within a grasp of being released. Its INCREDIBLE. Audio and video are a 9+ out of 10. Very Panama MTV like in production. Its a must.I have seen the 1976 backyard party from Pasadena on 8mm without audio and its FUCKING INSANE. Being a 30+ year guitar player, I can make out the tunes that Mr.Ed is playing and reading Daves lips I can figure the tunes out as well. The footage grade is an easy 9 out of 10. Almost like watching a tv show but has that old school vintage haze to it here and there as a typical 8mm film does. You see all the kids jumpimg and screaming with their long hair, high tube socks with the stripes, high top converse and pro ked sneakers.Fucking awesome shit!!!!!!.I am working feverishly to get that one released. This 8mm party is thee holy grail of CVH hands down!!!!!! Keep your eyes and ears open during this summer for the official release of the 35th anniversary of the 78 Texxas Jam. All bands with be on the dvd, including who else,The Mighty Van Halen.Theres also a complete 1980 World Invasion pro shot in the works. Keep praying and hoping for me and my contacts to make it happen. Keep partying with the Might VH!!!!!!!!! Cheers

That’s funny to read
I see lots of this on forums where people claim things they have etc. but unless you can prove it you really haven’t got it. It’s easy to say anything on the web to gain popularity or notoriety. I’ve personally given up with all this carrot dangling and tbh if everyone did the same the lack of attention would probably get them to give up more! or even show what ‘they’ve’ got!!! (if they had it in the first place). Oh well on with life. :-D

Well that’s annoying.. 1 year later and nothing. It’s to be expected. I wish people wouldn’t run their mouths about what may or may not be coming out.. just release the fucking thing and we’ll hype you as much as you like.

Resident dickhead. I will hurt your delicate feelings.

Yeah I guess any of us could make crazy claims like this and be the internet hero. I do think there was some truth to his posts. Maybe he saw some of it. But the owners just don’t want to let it out there without $ or whatever.

But then again it could be 100% made up just to look cool which is more likely. Oh well

I would have thought that something from the 1984 tour would have come out this year being that it’s the 30 year anniversary.

There’s also HFT from MOR Castle Donnington 1984 broadcast on the BBC Old Grey Whistle Test and Vegas 1984 single cam tripod shot which I beleieve may have originated from a broadcast source possibly a news crew?

nice. remember that was in the works for several years recently…but didn’t realize it was released.
Still I’ll bet anything that there is absolutely 0 footage included of VH. Just other people talking about them and the festival.

There was about 3 minutes worth of VH talk and they inserted a short clip of the DLR interview from ’82 on Entertainment Tonight with him in his bedroom. The whole documentary consists of many of the performers and organizers of the event and one guy who was in attendance. Redbeard is one of the main contributers of the show and he didn’t have much good to say about VH. He said Ed and Al were “ornery” but Mike was sweet. One of the other organizers said it was the first time they experienced a “hair band” that came out with long teased up hair, make up and spandex. Schon and Valory from Journey were interviewed for the film and spoke very briefly about VH touring with them and being crazy, throwing TVs into pool and tearing up hotel rooms. Over all vibe was they were crazy, crabby and green, but they kicked ass. They played a club version of “On Fire” over a couple seconds of the 8mm performance footage that was shown on YouTube and then showed a handful of photos from behind the stage that we’ve all seen before.

From the credits, the people who participated in the film are:
Redbeard, Ted Nugent, Eddie Money, Ann and Nancy Wilson, Frank Marino, Neal Schon, Ross Valory, Sammy Hagar, Allen Becker, Gary Becker, Steve Lawler, Rogery Boyd, Steve Huston, Bruce Corbitt and Walter Egan. I also remember an older clip with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry included as well talking about their past drug use. There was a consensus that their performace at the Jam wasn’t their best due to their drug use at the time. There might have been a couple more interview clips included, but that is the only one I remember. It’s an interesting short film. You can rent it for $3 or download it for $6.
