The re-release of the first Chickenfoot CD happens in a couple of weeks. It includes live tracks from the 2012 tour:

“Bitten by the Wolf”
“Lighten Up” (Live in Chicago 5/12/12)
“Big Foot” (Live in Seattle 6/6/12)
“Last Temptation” (Live in Seattle 6/6/12)
“Something Going Wrong” (Live in Boston 5/16/12)

I’m scratching my head as to why they would re-release the 1st album with new live tracks ???

Why not just release a live album ?

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

They are re-releasing the 1st CD because it was out of print and no longer available. They decided to throw in some newer live tracks just for fun.

Hopefully the new tracks will be on itunes so I can just buy those without having to buy the whole album over again.

Isn’t this like the third time they’ve re-re-re-released this album now?

Sammy must have caught that bug from Van Halen.

Nah, the classic VH albums have only seen one remaster re-release. Chickenfoot has:
1. the original album
2. the deluxe version with bonus track The Wolf
3. tour edition with DVD?
4. forthcoming re-release with live tracks
5. And there were packaging variations for the first 1 or 2, with the heat-sensitive printing

I may be wrong on some of these, but this is what I remember. I’m not a CF completist, though, so there may actually be more/less.

I hear ya. Really, compared to other bands that have been through multiple record labels over the years, like Aerosmith or Rolling Stones, etc., VH are lightweights with *only* greatest hits compilations. Some of those other bands that have been around a while now have more Best Of releases than studio albums by now!
