I’ve got the whole thing on my DVR and so far captured the first 4 hours to my computer. I’ll be making a complete set of the whole festival (I’ve talked to some guys that are just making individual discs of each band playing live, but I’ve always enjoyed having all the interviews and stuff between acts, so I’m keeping it as it aired). As long as this show is, it’ll realistically be a couple weeks before I’m finished as I can only mess with this a little each day, but if anyone is a sucker like me for the entire show I’ll figure a way to spread them around.
I’m glad Ratt changed their mind at the last minute and allowed HDNet to televise.

And also, does anyone have any idea the setlist for In The Pink? I’ve never heard those guys and have no idea the titles of those songs.

Admittedly I’m not the most knowledgeable on video, but if it’s captured as true HD, won’t it still be degraded when put on a standard DVD and end up about the same as the composite out? I haven’t done it in years, mind you, but I’m able to capture HD on my Mac from DirecTV (but not Windows for some reason), but I have to “downgrade” to SD when burning to DVD (an hour and a half concert I captured a few years back was something like 70 gigs).
Just curious more than anything as I’m out of the loop. I’d be glad to grab any of this show as well if it’ll help (I’ll have the DVR set to record for myself anyway).

Yes, there’s no such thing as hi-def on a DVD; if it is, then it’s a Blu-ray. But a DVD made from a hi-def computer capture would still be better than a DVD recorded via analog composite cable.

FYI, I’ve seen hi-def captures of Ratt and Quiet Riot’s sets from this show on a private tracker, so it is out there.

FF, this sounds awesome – would be really interested in seeing these when they’re done.

As for the In The Pink setlist, I haven’t seen the footage but they only recorded demos in the late 80′s which were released under the name “Sunshine Jive” in the 90′s. Here’s the track list for the album :-

01. Fools Parade
02. Sunshine Jive
03. You Got What You Wanted
04. Lost In Love
05. Under Summer Skies
06. Love Reaction
07. Sunday Rain
08. When You Love Someone
09. Sha Na La La
10. Stop This Crazy Ride
11. Reason For Me
12. Trapped
13. Something More

There’s also a Facebook page with some of those tracks – hope this helps :)

Thanks Dogtown, that should definitely help. I couldn’t even find a songlist online to try and match…by the way, I wouldn’t recommend blindly searching for “in the pink” 8-O

I have night 1…and I was fortunate enough to extend the recording time 3 hours so I got the remainder of the Kix set when the fight was delayed due to weather.
How is the quality of the first hour or so if your day 2? Mine has a lot of drop outs in audio until the end of the Stryper set that I didn’t know if it was transmission problems or if my DirecTV just glitched. If yours is clean, if you’ll send me the first part of day 2 I’ll send you a full set after they’re all authored.
Speaking of day 2, was it just me or was the snare in Ratt’s set WAY too loud for the first couple songs?

Absolutely I’ve got you covered, you helped me out a bunch back in the day on the old forum. I’ll let you know when they’re finished.

How long was Day 2 on HDNet? I only got 2 hrs for some reason? Got part of Skid Row, and probably of all Ratt’s show. I thought Warren’s guitar was dropping out for many of the first songs….couldn’t figure out why he didn’t swap it out, unless the problem was with HDNet? Ratt’s mix wasn’t right for most of their first few songs….I was really disappointed.

Day 2 was 10 hours. HDNet split it into 2 programs on the guide, one from 1pm to 9pm and a second program 9pm to 11pm…supposedly Ratt didn’t sign off on having their show aired until Friday so that may explain the additional programming?
Mine didn’t have any dropouts of Warren’s guitar, but that snare just sounded annoying…and the vocals were way low on the first couple tunes too.

I would have like to seen Lynch Mob…..that sucks I didn’t get it recorded.

Maybe, HDNet will re-run some of the performances?

Are they re-running the performances online?

Hey guys so what oaths status of the show. I just got night 2 today. On 3 DVDs a d Queensryche is on a separate disc itself. Quality is MINT! I’ll check for dropouts and other stuff.

I’ve got everything but Stryper (mine had bad dropouts). Bradleon is generous to send me that set so I’ll get everything else together. I know most people online only put together/wanted the band parts, but I’m a purist…lol. I like having the whole festival as it aired with all the interviews and backstage stuff (plus if I just want to see the show, that’s what chapters are for…lol), so if you want the whole shebang, I’ll have them together as soon as I get the discs from Brad. I’m not in a race to try to be the first to get this out…leave that to the younger people. The whole thing will probably be 8-10 DVD’s.
On another note, my computer gives me the option of this show’s audio being captured as PCM or AC3 (apparently 5.1 is encrypted), so I’m capturing mine as PCM to keep the audio as good as possible. I’ll keep everyone posted.
Also, I contacted someone who filmed the show with an HD camera who will give me the missing songs of KIX…does anyone have a preference of those being put in “chronological order” or just added as “bonus”? I figured there’ll be some extra space on the disc 3 of night 1 so I may as well add it in.

Are there other songs missing from other bands who played at the festival? If so, it would be cool to get everything added in – preferably in chronological order. Sometimes a nice single cam can even be mixed in with a pro-shot and you end up with a better product (at least – to some people it seems better).
