This morning on a local rock station WPLR, Jim Koplik a promoter with Live Nation was on and said he is working on getting Van Halen at the Comcast Theater in Hartford this summer. I have a client that is the head of security for several of the large venues in the Washington DC area, and I received an e-mail from him today on a financial matter, but he ended his e-mail with the following: “Heard some news about your boys last night. We get advanced schedules (not yet binding) of our concerts, and Van Halen is listed for August, so keep your options open. It was discussed that they might actually even being playing the sheds this summer. Rush is also saying to us that this is their last tour and they are going to do something big. Although we have heard that from a lot of bands before. Merry Christmas to you and the family.” So, it might not end up being anything, but to get to him, Van Halen is at a minimum sending out inquiries about venue availability for this summer, so it is at least something.
