Another rumor but from a good source. This morning on a local rock station WPLR, Jim Koplik a promoter with Live Nation was on and said he is working on getting Van Halen at the Comcast Theater in Hartford this summer. I know this man and he would not say this if it wasn’t true. That’s not to say it will happen but if he says he’s working on it than he is.

Cool Brian thanks for the info…

Koplik is indeed a trustworthy source, but I remember him mentioning working on Van Halen in the past, without them coming when he expected them to. I’m not saying he’s a liar, I’m just saying don’t hold your breath.

You are right Dave. I asked him about it this afternoon, he said he is holding a date and that right now it’s 50/50. I think just the fact that the Van Halen camp is reaching out is a good sign.

Fans have been looking for clues about Van Halen’s future that might be hidden inside David Lee Roth’s zany new holiday video. Could there really be hidden clues? We asked Diamond Dave… and he answered! He sent the Van Halen News Desk the following message…

“Yes, there are hidden messages in the video. The Kon-Tiki is the epitome of adventure. The VH flag and the Kon-Tiki are symbiotic. The ‘Everybody Wants Some’ lyric is reflective of upcoming good news.”

So there you have it. All the hints are positive, and there will be “upcoming good news.” Hmm…

Stay tuned to VHND….

From a guy at links could be a possibility..

If I put the symbols together

Everybody Wants Some
Sailing Ship with VH symbol
Kon Tiki symbolizing adventure

To me this indicates a VH tour overseas

Hawaii is overseas! I call dibs! Lot’s of Hawaiian symbolism in the video too. Looks like it’s pretty much a done deal…

From links….
What do you guys think…??

Here is a link about Kon Tiki

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kon-Tiki

It make reference to filming the expedition to prove it could be done with the technology at the time which was basic
Folks, I believe this lends itself to this
Unplugged Van Halen, going back to basics, small tour in small venues with an intimate setting, possibly including Q&A

Also referenced, a book and documentary, sticking with the back to basics theme, it’s probably the rest of the Downtown sessions including tour footage from 2012

If it is a live album I hope it is from Tokyo. The band seemed to sound the best from the whole tour in Japan. Here’s to something coming! :)

From a guy at links…

In my roughly fifteen years on this site, this is my first time doing this, so I hope that shows how good I think this source is.

I have a client that is the head of security for several of the large venues in the Washington DC area, and I received an e-mail from him today on a financial matter, but he ended his e-mail with the following:

“Heard some news about your boys last night. We get advanced schedules (not yet binding) of our concerts, and Van Halen is listed for August, so keep your options open. It was discussed that they might actually even being playing the sheds this summer.

Rush is also saying to us that this is their last tour and they are going to do something big. Although we have heard that from a lot of bands before.

Merry Christmas to you and the family.”

So, it might not end up being anything, but to get to him, Van Halen is at a minimum sending out inquiries about venue availability for this summer, so it is at least something.
