Sammy Hagar Teases Summer Tour With Whitesnake, Night Ranger
Ryan Reed
January 26, 2020

Sammy Hagar and the Circle are planning a summer 2020 tour with Whitesnake and Night Ranger.

The frontman teased the still-unannounced trek on Friday, Jan. 24 prior to the MusiCares Person of the Year gala honoring Aerosmith. Watch the interview clip below.

“We’re gonna do a 39,40-city tour coming up in July,” Hagar said on the event’s red carpet. “The announcement’s being made Monday. I’m very excited about that … Whitesnake’s on the tour with us and Night Ranger, so it’s kind of classic rock. You’ve got two singers, like David Coverdale and [me] — we’ve got the same fans.”

Hagar said that the and his Circle bandmates (former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, drummer Jason Bonham and guitarist Vic Johnson) wanted to build on the momentum of their high-charting debut LP, 2019′s Space Between.

“We had a number one album,” he said. “In my whole career with Van Halen, we had all No. 1 albums, but as a solo artist, I never had a top ten record. And we had number four in one category and No. 1 in three categories. And that was a big deal for me, so I’m going to support that record again this year.”

The singer added that he currently feels “really good” and wants to see whether he has the “energy and enthusiasm to sing” for three or four nights a week.

“When the tour was over last year, I went [snaps fingers], ‘Ah, I was having a good time,’” he said. “And I felt like we were getting in stride. So I committed to a 39-city tour, which will end up 45 or 50.”

Santiago March 6, 2020

We regret to report that Sammy Hagar; The Circle canceled its tour of South America, including the Chilean show, scheduled for Saturday, March 14 at Movistar Arena, because the US group does not want to be exposed to an eventual contagion of coronavirus.

The Chilean production exhausted all the possibilities and offered all the protection measures, but the band prefers not to leave their country because of the risk of contagion and the possible restrictions that they would have to return to the United States.

We apologize to all fans for the cancellation of the event and in the next few days the process to request the full refund of the money will be informed.

WHITESNAKE’s DAVID COVERDALE To Undergo Surgery For Bilateral Inguinal Hernia; U.S. And European Tour Dates Canceled
March 23, 2020

All of WHITESNAKE’s previously announced touring activities, including this summer’s U.S. trek with SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE and NIGHT RANGER, have been canceled so that frontman David Coverdale can undergo surgery for bilateral inguinal hernia.

Coverdale announced the cancelations in a statement released via social media earlier today. He said: “Once again it breaks my heart to be the bearer of even more sad news affecting WHITESNAKE’s touring schedule for this increasingly challenging year, 2020.

“All tours, Europe, UK & US, are being cancelled owing to health issues, related specifically to a bilateral inguinal hernia requiring me to have surgery.

“At this time, I can only offer You & my amazing musicians in WHITESNAKE & our crew my love & my sincere apologies & also my regrets to my friends in FOREIGNER, EUROPE & SAMMY HAGAR for this unforeseen personal health issue, which I will have addressed at the first possible opportunity. Until then, I send my love to you & yours & hopefully we will meet again along the road.”

SAMMY HAGAR Says THE CIRCLE’s U.S. Tour With NIGHT RANGER Might Get Postponed
April 9, 2020

Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony have commented on the status of SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE’s previously announced U.S. tour with NIGHT RANGER.

Produced by Live Nation, the outing is scheduled to kick off July 9 in West Palm Beach, Florida at iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre and make stops in Tampa, Cincinnati, Dallas, Phoenix and more, before wrapping September 20 in Chula Vista, California at North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre.

During an April 7 appearance on SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation”, Hagar and Anthony were asked if THE CIRCLE trek might get postponed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic which is currently sweeping the globe.

Hagar said (hear audio below): “Well, Live Nation says until further notice, they’re just leaving things as they are. But there’s a possibility of it postponing the first leg, and then we’ll look at the second leg.

“The good thing about our tour is we’re in three legs — we’re July, August, September,” he continued. “So if July gets canceled, or postponed, we move it to October, and then we can start in August. We can keep stacking it around. Then we get into the winter, and we’d have to go indoors or something.

“Listen, I’m gonna get out there and play,” Hagar said. “Otherwise, I’m gonna go crazy. And I don’t want Mikey breathing down my neck: ‘Hey, Sambo, hey, when are we going out? Hey, Sambo, when is the next gig?’”

Added Anthony: “My wife is breathing down my neck to get my ass out of the house. You know, the only thing that’s really crazy, though, now is I’m starting to read in the trades and stuff like that, they talk about when everything starts to calm down and they’re letting people out again or whatever, it might take a while for the concert business to build back up, because a lot of people still might be kind of gun shy, so to speak, to go to a concert and be around a bunch of people like that.”
