Van Halen 1982-09-21 Oklahoma City, OK

Here we have a totally unheard, uncirculated soundboard recording, capturing the Van Halen concert in Oklahoma City during their Diver Down tour (Hide Your Sheep tour) in 1982. Not even an audience recording of this show has circulated previously.

Unfortunately this recording is only about 8 minutes long, cutting off near the end of Unchained. Roy had already recorded over this show only a few days later in Houston, however he seemed to have not quite rewound the tape all the way to the beginning, which is the only reason this little bit happens to survive. From what little we can hear, it seems like it was a strong performance. This recording serves as another unfortunate indication of why not every show of the Diver Down tour survived in this collection.

On the positive side here, we at least have two nearly complete songs, which is way longer than the remnants found on a few other tapes. Those other minuscule scraps will be shared as bonus tracks in a compilation later on, however this Oklahoma City recording is substantial enough to be uploaded on its own.
