Any advice or tips on how to burn this to a disc using imgburn. I’ve made too many coasters trying to burn the Blu-ray version of this show. I did the dvd9 just fine but have no idea what folders to load. Unfortunately I’ve gone through my last 5 discs and can’t even try anything else right now. I should have more tomorrow.

I know a while back Randy had a great short but sweet set of instructions that went along with one of the 2012 Blu-rays. I remember that working like a charm but have know idea where to find them.

Just open ImgBurn, click on the burn disc from folder option

click on the little folder icon and navigate to the blu-ray folder and choose it

and then click the “disc icon” button at the bottom and start burning.

It will go through a few gyrations and say this looks like a blu-ray, and ask a couple of questions. Just click yes/confirm and until it starts burning.

Also – I usually declick the “verify” box because that adds a lot of time to the operation (basically doubles it). If you’re really worried about not getting a good burn, you can still use it. But as I said, I don’t – and I have never had a bad burn.

And don’t forget – just like DVD-Rs, there are shit quality discs and high quality discs – and the chances of burning coasters goes up when you burn with shitty quality discs. I burn all my blu-rays on Verbatim discs.

Thanks Randy. As it happens UPS just delivered my new discs so I’ll try it now. I too only use Verbatim BD-R discs.

From the ImgBurn website.

ImgBurn supports all the Microsoft Windows OS’s – Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT4, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 2008, Windows 7 and Windows 8 (including all the 64-bit versions). If you use Wine, it should also run on Linux and other x86-based Unixes.

Toast Titanium on Mac does basically all the same things.

I thought that Guy (Radikal) said he couldn’t burn this to a single-layer blu-ray with Toast – it kept on saying it required a dual-layer disc because it wouldn’t fit on a single-layer blu-ray. I might be mis-quoting him though. I can’t find his original post.

except apparently burn this show to a single Blu-ray disc, according to Guitard….. I want to be able to give copies of the video to the friends who went with me, they were on the lawn while I was up front, I want them to be able to see what they missed…. might just DL one of the DVD versions and do it that way…..

I don’t know much about Macs – only what I’ve been told. I think my son runs Windows on his Mac somehow – maybe that’s a possibility; run Windows on the Mac and burn it with ImgBurn. I don’t know why ImgBurn seems to be the only program that’ll work for this -but so far that appears to be the case.

How big is it? Maybe instead of burning it as an ISO/disk image, take the BDMV folder and tell Toast to burn a Blu-ray from that?

It’s not an .iso file – it’s the standard blu-ray file structure with a BDMV folder and a CERTIFICATE folder. The CERTIFICATE folder only contains an empty sub-folder (BACKUP), so I kind of doubt what you proposed would make a difference. But I guess you never really know.

Randy, as always, huge thanks on filming and authoring this great show. Some of the close-ups of Ed are fantastic – really enjoyed it.

I managed to burn it ok to disc using ImgBurn and a blank Verbatim Blu-ray.

If anybody is still having problems burning the BD to disc, I’ve burned a couple of extra copies which I can snail-mail out if needed.
