VOODOO(2374) | A while back I bought the full series of WKRP in Cincinnati. It was compiled from the syndicated versions of the show and was a homemade set, since all of the seasons weren’t released, due to the original music that was used when the show originally aired. Anyway, I was watching one episode this past weekend and they used a quick snippet of “Atomic Punk”. I never knew they used any VH music on the show. That was pretty cool.

Halenberg(406) | Love these kinda trivia tidbits.  Impeccable timing too since they’re playing Cincinnati tonight.  Did a quick Google search and ran across this forums page that lists all the songs played on the first season. It says VH- Light Up The Sky…  http://www.tv.com/shows/wkrp-in-cincinnati/forums/music-list-58934-252626/ I also remember in the early 90′s they had a reboot of the series and distinctly remember seeing a poster of DLR’s A Little Ain’t Enough album cover on the wall inside the DJ booth.

I bought the official release a couple years back & it had the generic music in place of 99.9% of all music clips in the whole season. I used to always watch this show when I was in high school it played late night on channel 50 & I remember seeing Herb walk into Dell’s Stereo shop & Dell blasting Atomic Punk trying to sell Herb a stereo….I’m sure I have it recorded on VHS some where…

Halenberg(406) | Oh- So definitely Atomic Punk then….that means the list is wrong….or is it possible they played both VH tunes on different episodes…(???)

Halenberg(406) | Yep- Just saw it listed on the IMDB site and absolutely no mention of Light Up The Sky anywhere so that other list must be wrong since it shows it from the same episode.

Halenberg(406) | Oh FFS- VH didn’t even have VH11 out at the time the episode aired on October 16 1978. Doh- Smacks self in head for not noticing sooner.
