You Really Got Me
Bottoms Up!

Notes: Surprise! With the boys playing Vancouver on the current tour a few of us old school traders thought it would be fun to bust this gem out from the same town 32 years ago.
The sound here is really good, and rivals the Fresno 3-25-79 recording. It starts off a bit rought, but it seems the taper turned his mic toward the stage and the sound gets and stays better from the middle of the first song out. There is small master tape issue on “Running With the Devil” but not too bad.
Enjoy this historic analog recording and let’s hope the Vancouver May 7 shows up here soon.

Thanks for the head’s up! This one wasn’t even on my list of known shows, so it’s a brand new addition to my collection! :D

This is most likely the best quality 1979 show (or close to it). Love this one.

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

there must be some very poor versions of 3/25/79 floating around to say this “rivals fresno” or “best quality 79″..not a bad recording though

yeah I know Fresno 79 should likely be the best quality, but I’d have to go back and listen to which version I have. But I think this Vancouver show has a very full, deep sound to it.

this show has a lot of presence, but lacks that bottom end punch and has a weak bass drum mix, because it is a distant recording…the solo on Ice cream man is a big letdown for me..

I have 1st gen version of 3/25/79 Fresno and it’s so good it could be confused as being a soundboard. I do think the Vancouver recording is very good as far as shows from 79 go though.

The is a great sounding show. It does NOT rival the Fresno show.
