He said: “Joe’s [Satriani, CHICKENFOOT guitarist] doing his thing and Chad’s [Smith, CHICKENFOOT drummer] just coming off a [RED HOT] CHILI PEPPERS tour and he’s not gonna wanna go into the studio. What I heard back right away did not surprise me… that the rumor simply is not true. (As most of you have always thought). I almost posted something here, but you guys seems to be having fun lightheartedly speculating. I thought about trying to dispel the rumor on VHND, but the rumor hasn’t gone viral, so i thought there was no need to. I feel confident that the lineup of the band will never change again. That being said, when it comes to VH, in my opinion, “never say ‘never’” applies. I don’t think it would be IMPOSSIBLE for any change to happen in the future. But again, I think it’s unlikely. I think that the least likely thing to ever happen would be Sammy Hagar coming back. I can’t see that happening at all, but I still wouldn’t say there is ZERO chance. Just extremely unlikely. The band just came off and an album and tour that was very well received. And Dave and the three Van Halens get along. There’s no need to change up the band. The big question to me (and to the other’s I’ve talked to) is not whether or not this Dave/Sammy tour will happen. The question is, WHO told Triple M in Australia that VH was thinking about touring with Dave AND SAMMY?
