If anyone is interested in going to the Austin gig on September 21st, be aware that the Platinum Seats were dumped into the general ticket pool this morning and are now available at face value ($166/EA). Snap them up before the scalpers do!

That is very strange. I just checked the link you provided and sure enough you can pick up tix in row D for $149 plus fees. The weird thing is in the same row are tix listed as VIP $750 each.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the front row VIP tix are available for $166 (after fees) during the week of the show. Austin gets soooo many live shows on a nightly basis, that your average rock fan may not be willing to pay Van Halen’s high asking prices. Don’t get me wrong, if I didn’t score my FLOOR 5/Row D seats for 35% below face value last month, I would have jumped on the Floor 2 Row D (Ed section) seats this morning. My buddy and I were kicking ourselves for a few minutes earlier today.

It’s not uncommon to have 2-3 major headlining acts performing in town on the same night.
For example, on Sunday night I am going to see Whitesnake (very excited). At the same time, Shania Twain, and some rappers from the Wu-Tang Clan, will be performing at different venues a few miles away.

Ory, you need to click “Buy On Map” and wait for a minute. You’ll then see the deeply discounted floor seats.

Front row tix are all sold out for that show.

Just for shits and grins, I used the “buy on map” function, and selected Section Floor 2, Row D, Seats 9 & 10 ($149.50 each). I clicked on the “Buy Tickets” button, filled in the code word, and processed all the way through to where you have to put in your credit card info. It was showing a total price of $337.01.

So it looks like you really can get these tickets cheap.

I hope this offer will encourage some of you filmers out there to come on down to Hipster Hell, A.K.A. Austin,Texas to capture the Mighty Van Halen!
If seats in rows A, B, or C, in SEC 2 or 3 are offered at $166 each down the road, I just might pull the trigger. 8)

I saw Whitesnake in Indiana on 7/18. The show was awesome. The addition of Joel Hoekstra made a big impact imo. The band was incredible. I mean really good. I think DC’s voice was in fine form as well. Very good show for the money. I also like the new Purple Album by Whitesnake.
