I usually don’t post often but I have to voice my frustrations on this one, the San Diego and the Tour rehearsals.

I am so thankful that we have some excellent shows to listen to, especially near the end of a tour, so please don’t take this the wrong way.

These recordings could have been SO MUCH better!

By listening to these, it sounds like the transfer is fine, and the LP is probably a great pressing (even though I don’t know for sure)
BUT, we are victims of someone sitting on tapes for 40 years and letting them degrade. When these were first recorded I’m sure they were 100 times better, and then they slowly degraded. You can hear all the distortion and high end loss in these. It sounds like aging.

The Pogo’s and Japan show sounded as if they stood the test of time better. I’m not saying they’re better performances, just that they SOUND better.

This is a perfect example (so it seems) of someone waiting FOR EVER, when it could’ve probably been done 20 years ago.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!! release it all already!

Wanted to say a quick a thank you to the folks that posted links, especially dogtown and mojo for the guitars101 links. I also appreciate the folks who ponied up and then shared – thank you. That being said, although I think these shows sound ten times better than what we’ve had available all these years, I can appreciate Josh’s frustration with the wait and degradation. I also don’t understand why Roger and gang sped up the Osaka and San Diego recordings, but it’s a minor quibble that is easily fixable. Thank you to all involved.
