Maybe it’s just my earbuds, but is this recording basically void of bass? Probably nothing that a little EQing can’t fix. Pretty monumental find if it comes to fruition.

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

Well I guess my source was right. Just wasn’t sure about the color of the vinyl. Now my understanding is that there should be more unreleased shows from 79, US shows, all soundboard with a possible 77 show that is also soundboard. The format will be the same vinyl / CD, 2LP sets. If I find out what they are in advance I will let you know. Where did you find the video??

Unbelievable! 37-38 years of circulating shows and out of nowhere, BOOM! these gems surface.
Do I revise my recollection releases now, especially 1979?!
Who has been sitting on these and why wait until now to release them? Will there again be suddenly more (like from 1980)? So many questions but THANKS!! mikeyV for the alert on this bombshell!

This is amazing!

That said, unless VH played there twice – which I very much doubt, this was an April date.

I will provide proof later today over on my FB VHR page.

Regardless this is so cool. Thanks Mikey!

Roth’s comments about the start of warmer weather seem to place it earlier than August. April 3rd looks likely. Looking forward to your FB post.

As some here know, I am working on authoring CBG’s master video collection (which is 99% unreleased and numbers in the thousands). I was recently contacted by another such filmer (huge collection of masters – mostly unreleased) who wants me to start authoring his shows.

I think part of the reason you’re starting to see this stuff is that the people who have it are getting older and coming to the realization that you can’t take it with you when you die. And that leads to the inevitable question, “What’s going to happen to this stuff after I’m gone?” So they are starting to let it out. This is all aided by the advent of cheap, easy digital file transfers.

Well, I’m glad they’re asking you to help with the releases! You do great work, man.

Regarding these vinyl releases coming out, I’m finding I enjoy the older boots a lot more than the later stuff. Not sure why, but I think it sort of makes you feel like you were there in the beginning before everyone knew about them. Excited to see what comes out!

Oh, and maybe you should wait until it’s released before you question the actual performance date…?

Some of these trader folks seem awfully volatile and I can imagine some guy flipping out and holding on to his recording because he feels slighted somehow by someone daring to question his dates or whatever.
